We're building Takaro to help curious minds navigate the world around them.

WHY WE EXIST

Children aged 8 to 16 are growing up in a world that moves fast — news, careers, history, science, money, culture. It's a lot to make sense of. And the instinct of most content made for kids is to simplify: make it shorter, friendlier, less scary.

We think that's the wrong instinct.

Takaro exists to give young people real tools for understanding their world — how to read the news, how decisions get made, how economies move, what a future career could look like, how the past explains the present.

That's bigger than one show. It's why Takaro is building a family of them — each tackling a different part of growing up curious.

HOW IT WORKS

Each Takaro show picks its own lens on the world — current events, careers, or history — and builds episodes young people actually want to listen to, backed by a free classroom resource every week.

Different shows, same standard: real ideas, explained without dumbing them down. As the world Takaro covers grows, so does the family of shows built to explain it.

OUR EDITORIAL APPROACH

We don't avoid complexity. We don't take political sides. We ask questions rather than give answers — because the point isn't to tell children what to think. It's to give them better ways of thinking.

We hold our audience to a high standard. Our episodes are written for curious, intelligent young people — not for the version of young people that adults sometimes underestimate.
